Every patient we admit reinforces the understanding that Dignity Hospice exists because the community gives us the opportunity to serve. Our team desires to make a positive impact on our community through support, education and care delivery excellence. Sympathy is an external perspective of feeling sorrow for someone else’s misfortune. Empathy is the action of entering into an emotional journey with someone. Connecting with others on their journey enables us to render care at a highly individualized personal level.
Hope can be defined as the belief and expectation that, even in the absence of a cure, meaningful and positive experiences are still possible. This form of hope emphasizes the importance of emotional well-being, pain management, and the fulfillment of personal and relationship goals, ensuring that life remains rich and dignified, despite the limitations of illness.
Hospice care is available wherever the patient considers home, whether that’s a private residence, nursing home, assisted living community, or long-term care setting. Members of the hospice team will visit the patient according to their individualized care plan. These visits can occur daily, several times a week, weekly, or as needed based on the patient’s requirement.
